Like other diagnostic tools, X-rays are used to identify health problems such as broken bones and lung disease. If an X-ray is not taken or read properly, serious conditions may be missed and proper treatment delayed or never administered. If an X-ray technician or physician makes a mistake, that person (and possibly their hospital) may be legally liable for any harm that befalls the patient as a result.
